The challenge
Churches wanted spoken scripture to appear on screen the moment it's preached — but speakers rarely read references verbatim. They paraphrase, skip the verse number, or quote from memory. Existing presentation tools require an operator to find and cue every passage by hand, which is slow and error-prone during a live service.
What we built
We built Loghema as a native desktop app that listens to the live sermon, transcribes it on the fly, and detects scripture — including paraphrased and partial quotes — then projects the matching passage to the screens automatically. The whole stack was built end to end: a Rust core for fast, reliable audio and detection, a Tauri shell for a lightweight cross-platform desktop app, and a React interface operators can run with almost no training.
